A Walk Among Stonewalls

MayMay 2 2026

10:00am - 12:00pm

Historians tell us that most of the stone walls New England is so famous for were built in the early 19th century. If, like many of us, you have ever wondered about the stone walls encountered on your hikes, and you are interested in knowing a bit more about their origins and the history that may be gleaned from them, join Doug Williams from Wachusett Meadow Wildlife Sanctuary to explore a few of Wachusett Meadow’s remarkable stone walls. This hike will be at an easy pace but will include uneven ground and some off-trail sections. Max Group size 20. Register here or email Rick at RIck.S.Gardner@GMail.com.
