Senior Tax Work-off Selection Process

Application Through Appointment

  • Taxpayer completes and submits application
  • Assessor determines taxpayer eligibility
  • Town Administrator(TA) verifies qualifications and refers to department(s)
  • Department Head may ask taxpayer to come in for an interview
  • Department Head makes recommendation to TA
  • TA approves and assign the program participant to a position

Upon Appointment

Written Confirmation

Town Administrator will provide the taxpayer with written confirmation stating:

  • Job duties
  • Location of job
  • Name of supervisor
  • Scheduled hours
  • Hourly rate of credit to be earned

Also Provided by the Town Administrator

  • Tax forms to be completed
  • A general orientation regarding their participation in the program

Term

  • Program selection is valid for one year
  • Applicants must re-apply annually if they wish to continue participation

Prior Participation

  • Preference will be given to first-time applicants
  • The Town reserves the right to employ prior participants to finish ongoing special projects
