Request Vital Records (Birth, Death, and Marriage)
Available Records
- Birth records are available for any person born in Princeton or whose parents were living in Princeton at the time of the birth
- Death records are available for any person who died in Princeton or whose legal residence was the Town of Princeton at the time of death
- Marriage records are available for any couple who filed Marriage Intentions (got a license) in Princeton whether or not the marriage took place in Princeton
- Princeton has vital records dating back to 1744
Fees
- Certified copies of birth, death, and marriage certificates are $10 apiece
- If you are requesting an older record as part of a Genealogical search there may be an additional charge if some of the required information is not available and research is necessary.
How to Request Copies
There are multiple ways for you to request copies:
- In person at the Clerk’s office
- Download a request form and request copies by mail
- Order and pay online

- Copies will be mailed to you
- The process may take up to 10 days
- Every effort will be made to reply to your request on the day it is received
