Pay a Motor Vehicle Excise Tax Bill

When Due

• Due 30 days from date of issue
• Approximately three-fourths of all excise bills will be mailed in February and the remainder are sent out over the rest of the year.

Period Covered

Each vehicle is taxed from the first day of the month in which it is registered to the end of the calendar year. The excise is based on information furnished on the application for registration.

Partial Payments

Partial payments of motor vehicle excise bills are not accepted. Since the law states that interest and charges, as they accrue, become a part of the bill, payment of delinquent bills may be accepted only if all fees and charges are included in the payment.
