Updates

(See compiled updates attached)

-RFP to haulers went out on 7/28; Town Admin for Rutland left (who was the spearhead for this); Hubbardston Town Administrator is taking this over; and haulers have until the end of August to make a decision if they want to bid on this 3-town contract.

-Has anyone heard anything from PMLD? Is a Sterling line coming in? CG to check PMLD meeting minutes for more information.

-Climate MVP 2.0 program: Previous correspondence was unclear if EAC members could hold a paid position in this because there could potentially be a conflict of interest.  CBH is going to be on the core team, and Sherry needs a core team by September. Do EAC members want to be on a community liaison on the Core Team? We need to come up with a liaison team that includes representatives of climate vulnerable people (seniors, k-8, etc). The first year the team will work on developing a Seed project, but the goal is to educate on climate preparedness. Year 1 will be about core team planning, and year 2 will be implementing. If anyone is interested, or knows anyone interested in participating in the core team, please let CBH know. The focus of this will be on what makes Princeton most vulnerable to climate change, and how we go about fixing them.

-EAC members collectively looked at VA’s logos; want to have “Princeton” written on it and include our key EAP-type topics included.

-VA drafted a document for teen membership involvement

DCR Resource Management Plans for Wachusett and Leominster State Forest

-CBH submitted comments for both by mail. CBH will also complete an abbreviated submission as well.

Environmental Action Plan Updates

-Roundtable set for September 29th from 7:00-8:30pm located at the senior center

-Planning to have a meeting beforehand to plan how we will hold the roundtable

-If there are only a few people, we will have one big discussion, if a lot of people attend then we will break up into groups

-CBH to send emails to other committees for participation (create a Canva advertisement for other entities like DCR, etc)

– attendance goal is to have as many EAC members attend as possible

Officer elections

-CBH was nominated as chair

-CG was nominated as vice chair

-SO was nominated as Secretary

-RB moved to approve all three nominations, KK 2nd, vote was unanimous

Next meeting date: September 8th at 7:00pm

Moved to adjourn 8:11pm

CG motioned, CBH 2nd, Vote: unanimous

Respectfully submitted,

Starr O’Malley
