Sealed Bids for the PROPOSED BRIDGE REPLACEMENT OF BRIDGE NO. P-16-013 (CP8) HOBBS ROAD OVER KEYES BROOK will be received by the Town of Princeton, MA (Owner) at the Town Administrator’s Office, 6 Town Hall Drive, Princeton, MA 01541, until 10:00 A.M., on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at which time Bids will be publicly opened and read aloud.
The work under this contract consists of installation of a precast three-sided frame on spread footings, construction of cast-in-place concrete wingwalls, safety curbs, and approach slabs, installation of steel thrie beam bridge railing and approach guardrail, and associated signing, pavement and pavement striping.
MassDOT prequalifications of contractors with the class of work as, Bridge – Culverts, will be required.
Contract Documents may be obtained electronically by emailing Stephanie Nolan at snolan@vhb.com, starting at 12:00 p.m. on August 13, 2025. Contractors must provide all contact information (requestor’s name, company name, company address, company telephone number, and company fax number) to the Owner at the time of the request. There is no fee for an electronic copy of the Contract Documents. All Contractor questions must be submitted in writing to snolan@vhb.com by 2PM on Friday August 29, 2025, before bids are scheduled to be opened.
Each Bid shall be submitted in accordance with Instructions to Bidders and shall be accompanied by a Bid Security in form of a bid bond, cash, certified check, treasurer’s or cashier’s check, or security bond in the amount of five (5) percent of the Bid. Bidders may not withdraw their Bids for a period of forty-five (45) days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays, and legal holidays, after the actual date of the opening of the Bids. Complete instructions for filing Bids are included in the Instructions to Bidders.
Minimum Wage Rates as determined by the Commissioner of the Department of Labor and Workforce Development under the provision of the M.G.L.c. 149, §§ 26 to 27D, as amended, apply to this project. It is the responsibility of the Contractor, before Bid Opening, to request, if necessary, any additional information on Minimum Wage Rates for those trades people who may be employed for the proposed work under this Contract.
The Bidding and Award of this Contract will be pursuant to M.G.L. c. 30, § 39M. The Owner reserves the right, in its absolute and sole discretion, to waive any informality in or to reject any or all Bids if deemed to be in its best interest.
