Open Space Committee (OSC) members are town-appointed with the primary goal being to review and implement the Open Space and Recreation Plan. Updates to this report are submitted to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts every seven years, a requirement for many Stated awards and grants. The plan is used to drive improvement projects during the seven year period.
Primary Areas of Emphasis
- Preserving land within the boundaries of Princeton that are deemed beneficial for recreational use
- Performing stewardship of our natural resources
- Maintaining the town’s rural character and conserving its diverse natural landscape
- Fostering landowner awareness of land conservation and stewardship with the aim of exploring areas of cooperation beneficial to all parties
- Creating new trails
- Developing, maintaining and promoting utilization of the more than 100 miles of current trails currently in use in Princeton and neighboring areas
