The Board of Registrars' responsibilities include registering voters, making local listings of residents (Census/Street List), certifying nomination papers and petitions, processing absent voter applications, and administering election recounts.

Three members are appointed by the Selectboard for staggered three-year terms beginning on April 1st. The Town Clerk is the fourth member of the Board by virtue of the office and also serves as Clerk of the Board. No more than two members can be of the same political party. The Board selects the Chair from among its members.

The Board meets every April to organize and elect a new chair. Other meetings are as necessary and tend to be more frequent during busy election cycles.
